Anyone Else With AL Amyloidosis In Their Digestive System?.
A MyAmyloidosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am experiencing daily bouts of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and extreme drops in blood pressure. For the past 2 months now. I am currently in CHR and have been done with chemo for one month. Didn’t have any of these issues while on treatments. Any thoughts or similar issues out there? I’m just wondering if it’s the Amyloidosis or a result of nerve damage from the chemo? I’ve had bacterial and parasite tests done but no evidence of either. Also had a recent echocardiogram which was normal. No-one… read more

It sure does! I was looking forward to being “normal” for awhile after treatment was finished. Have a glass of wine, play some golf with my hubby, etc. Then this nausea & stuff happened!
Well, hopefully it will taper off and go away, seeing as there is no “treatment” to stop it. Fingers crossed and best wishes to you in your journey!!

I’ve had that all along since March 2022. The amyloid is in my GI tract. Had a colonoscopy & endoscopy biopsies were confirmed. They have to be looking for the amyloid otherwise they won’t find it. My GI dr told me visually everything looked perfect! How scary is that!?

They told me in the beginning before my AL diagnosis that it was dysautonomia. I think it’s all wrapped up in the AL. I don’t know whether the low bp is cardiac or neuro. I’ve been in complete response for 10 months now. I get velcade 2x a month and darzalex 1x a month. I’m better but nowhere 100%. I think it’s all part of the AL and chemo unfortunately. I had a really bad night the other night. I was actually in the bathroom for 1 hour! I told my boyfriend that I can’t believe this is as good as it’s going to get. He told me to remain positive and have faith. It’s really hard though but I do it for him.
