Outdoor exercise in this cold weather is difficult and infrequent, so Ruth and I have devised an indoor exercise program which is based upon music from my old spin play lists. While playing the music Ruth and I are keeping time marching or dancing around the house. We usually go for 35 minutes. Music such as: bugler's holiday, the typewriter, Chattahoochee, ...etc. We strongly believe that exercise is most important for those with amyloidosis.

I don’t know if it’s the amyloidosis or my older age (76) but I feel the cold more.

Wild type- slows my blood flow because it caused cardiomiapathy. Do to slow blood flow, I’m always cold below 71 degrees. I wear insulated clothing and hat in the house. I have dry skin, joint pain, and balance problems. K. C. (81)

Cold air dries my skin out so I use lots of Udderly Smooth. Much worst this year than usual but I don't know if dry skin is due to Amyloidosis AL

Thinking back to Mike' earlier question: "I don’t know if it’s the amyloidosis (Amy) or my older age but I feel the cold more". My experience is that after I was diagnosed with Amy I did not sweat anymore. Likely that is due to significant fatigue per Amy and corresponding lack of energy. My body does not sweat unless it has excess heat, and with Amy I do not produce much if any body heat. So I think that Amy is the prime culprit for feeling cold more, with age making some contribution.
