I have the same exact thing. Food taste like crap but a little less like crap than at the very beginning of my journey. I don’t enjoy food like I used to. I just push through because I don’t want to lose more weight. It’s killing me because I’m Italian and we like our food!!!

I do have taste issues. Almost all foods taste salty to me. My tongue is also enlarged and I have bitten it so many times I have continued red marks in that area. I hope things improve for your husband.

Hello Mary10. My husband had these same issues with taste. They were present for about two years. Then, once chemo started his taste changed and he could once more enjoy his food. The scalloped and thickening tongue is a noted symptom of Amyloidosis. My husband had a thickening tongue (not much but enough that it was noted by him) but no scalloped issues.

Often my wife says I am tasteless...but I guess that's a different issue.😉
God bless and heal that problem!!😇🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Mary, somewhere in the middle of my chemotherapy treatments I lost my taste ability--came back after treatments ended. Also I ended biting my tongue several times, likely caused by a swollen tongue--that's gone now.
