I'm not following a special diet, just a mix of Chinese, Mediterranean, and Western. I have been avoiding or minimizing sugar and salt for years, so nothing has changed. Alcohol consumption has been sporadic and minimal for years, but I don't abstain. The occasional glass of cider or wine several times a month probably is not going to kill me, but it will make life a little more enjoyable. In the end, something is going to kill me, and it might as well be an occasional pleasant beverage. Better than getting hit by a bus. No sense in dying before I'm dead!šŸ˜€

I think everyone is trying their best! I am grateful for each new day and have been an advocate for health and fitness. I eat very healthy, but portion control could be better. I do enjoy Red Wine because I call it the blood of Christ! My son makes his own and I do indulge on a rare occasion.
After all the wok I put into my health, learning about amyloidosis has been an obstacle for me. I have been going to a Cardiologist since I was 40 for the sole purpose of beating the odds but now, I am right in it!
I do train with resistance (weights) and I make an effort to focus on cardiovascular health as my purpose.
Hope everyone is making progress in beating their Amyloidosis.

Low salt is my goal (amount I don't know). I normally look at the labels to determine whether to eat the product. Fish is regularly eaten, though not every day. Low fat meats are the other pleasure. I regularly have fruits and vegetables especially at dinner and lunch. Whiskey or red wine occasionally, a little more than once a year. I was told the most recent test was a turnaround for my heart with my most recent test. My original diagnosis was hereditary Amyloidosis, and I have outlived the person (my mother) who had the same diagnosis, by two years so far. I regularly exercise with manual labor (moved a load of dirt to distribute and seed an area of the lawn - and walking, even though family thinks I should not do the manual labor because of my age. I am presently on Vyndamax (tafamidis) and active whenever possible though I had a swollen right leg recently which hindered my walking.

I do not drink alcohol or smoke. I only use sea salt or pink salt. No bad oils. I eat lots of eggs, fish, and meat. Avocados, pineapple, only real juice no sugar added Mostly cranberry. Lots of protein and very little veggies. Good cheese not the processed kind. I limit carbohydrates and do not use sugar. A fair amount of dark chocolate. The only sugar I have is in some desserts. Dried nuts and fruit. No milk only almond milk. Real yogurt twice a week. I take all the vitamins and amino acids needed a couple of times a week so as not to overdue them. Nattokinase 200mg a day. I eat saturated fats but only from a natural source like Tallow and real butter, olive oil and coconut oil. All of my bloodwork is good and my Doctor says he can not tell I have wild type ATTR by my blood tests. I also get 20 minutes of Sunshine and 20mins of grounding every day.
