To determine the stage of transthyretin (TTR) amyloidosis, specific biomarkers are used. According to my knowledge base:

- Stage 1: Normal levels of both NT-proBNP (less than 3,000 nanograms per liter) and eGFR (more than 45 milliliters per minute)
- Stage 2: Abnormal levels of either NT-proBNP or eGFR.
