COVID-19 infection doesn't cause amyloidosis. The available research doesn't show that COVID-19 creates the specific protein misfolding problems that lead to any type of amyloidosis.

However, COVID-19 is relevant to amyloidosis in other important ways. The virus can trigger widespread inflammation throughout the body, which is particularly concerning if you already have amyloidosis.

If you're living with amyloidosis, you may be at higher risk for severe COVID-19, especially if:

* You have cardiac involvement
* You're receiving immune-suppressing treatments like corticosteroids, proteasome inhibitors, or anti-CD38 antibodies
* You have other health conditions like lung or kidney disease, diabetes, or obesity

Staying current on COVID-19 vaccines is important for protecting yourself. The vaccines have been shown to be safe and protective for people with cardiac amyloidosis.

When you have concrete information not just undocumented information or opinions, please post. Nothing you state in your comments links COVID to amyloidosis.

I didn’t get vaccine but I got the original strain then Omicron and the what ever Omicron strain was circulating in Dec 24th of 2024. I sent my blood to one of three labs in the world and guess what.. amyloids. They are seeing 70 percent of blood samples both vaccinated and unvaccinated like me. My blood was very bad and my symptoms were horrible. The spike protein of the infection and vaccine has caused amyloidosis.
