How can I participate in clinical trials for ATTR-CM amyloidosis treatment research?
Clinical trials are essential research studies that test new and emerging treatments for amyloidosis. Some exciting developments include:
• New antibodies targeting amyloid proteins
• CAR T-cell therapy that engineers immune cells
• Gene-editing technology like CRISPR (NTLA-2001) designed to delete the TTR gene in the liver To participate in a clinical trial:
1. Discuss your interest with your healthcare provider
2. Work with a doctor who specializes in amyloidosis
3. Have your care team help identify trials you may be eligible for
4. Review whether the available trials might be a good fit for your specific situation
Remember that participating in clinical trials helps researchers better understand the effects of new treatments and potentially advance future therapies.
