Members shared how amyloidosis treatment has affected their daily lives, with experiences ranging from maintaining relatively normal routines at a slower pace to dramatic lifestyle changes marked by shortness of breath, fatigue, digestive issues, and reduced mobility. Several members described gratitude for newer medications like tafamidis, Attruby, and Amvuttra that have stabilized their condition or extended their lives beyond initial expectations, though others expressed frustration with dosage limitations, side effects like brain fog and balance problems, and the exhausting reality of managing symptoms day to day. A recurring theme was the importance of staying positive, taking each day as it comes, leaning on community support, and advocating for access to the most effective treatments available.

My shortness of breath has really affected my everyday life as I'm used to being a fairly active 77 year old. Being tired is another thing. We got back from an 8 hour road trip and that night I slept 11 hours!!!
I'm trying to stay a positive person who likes to joke, but some days are hard. Being on this site, knowing there are other people who have amyloidosis and the same symptoms as me and how they deal with them, really helps!

Thank GOD nothing changed in my daily life. Life as usual, but at a slower pace and slight increase in resting time.

We both need to remember that was great to be able to do 5, every day and talk or joke with others along the way. Then we couldn't walk and talk at the same time in order to save our breath if we hoped to get back to our starting point. Yes Keith, its crap, but I'm going to have a raspberry donut and say "hang in there dude."
