What can you expect after starting Amvuttra for wild-type amyloidosis?

Since you've had your second shot of Amvuttra, you're on a good treatment path. Amvuttra is given once every three months, so you'll only need four doses per year total.

What to watch for:

The injection site may have some mild reactions like:
- Skin discoloration
- Swelling
- Tenderness

These are usually minor and uncommon compared to IV treatments.

How it helps:

Amvuttra works by reducing the production of abnormal transthyretin protein in your liver, which helps prevent further amyloid buildup and organ damage. This can help slow the progression of wild-type amyloidosis.

Monitoring your progress:

Your healthcare team will likely track your symptoms and heart function over time. Many people with wild-type amyloidosis who receive treatment can maintain a better quality of life.

Keep communicating with your doctor about any new symptoms or concerns. Since you're early in treatment (only your second shot), it's important to stay on schedule with your quarterly doses and follow-up appointments.
