Common symptoms that can occur with wild-type ATTR-CM include:

- Heart failure symptoms (shortness of breath, leg swelling, fatigue)
- Irregular heart rhythms like atrial fibrillation
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Spinal stenosis (often appearing as an early warning sign)

However, there's one key difference: Neuropathies (nerve damage affecting sensation, pain, and autonomic functions) are more common in hereditary ATTR-CM than in the wild-type form.

Both types share the underlying issue of amyloid deposits building up in the heart and other tissues, making the heart muscle stiff and less able to pump blood effectively.
