I’m pretty forgetful. It could be from treatment. Also when I got Covid back in March 2020, before amyloidosis, it was really bad after that. Lack of oxygen.

Are you noticing memory loss or attention problems in your husband with ATTR?

Yes, cognitive impairment — including problems with thinking and memory — can occur with ATTR-PN (transthyretin amyloid polyneuropathy). People with ATTR-PN have been shown to experience high rates of psychological distress, which includes cognitive difficulties alongside anxiety and depression.

ATTR can affect the nervous system in multiple ways. When it impacts the autonomic nervous system, it can cause various symptoms throughout the body. The condition may also affect mood and mental function, which could contribute to the forgetfulness you're noticing in your husband.

It's important to mention these changes to your husband's healthcare team. They can help determine whether the memory issues are related to ATTR or if other factors might be involved. They may also be able to suggest strategies or treatments to help manage these symptoms.
