I received my third shot of Amvuttra and I'm still wondering about the effectiveness of it.
I have had my roughest six weeks in a long time.
I also have MDS which is a bone marrow disease and my hemoglobin count is very low
So I also get shots to increase the number of red blood cells.
I am very fatigued and most of the time out of breath after very little exertion😳

How can you tell if your amyloidosis medications are working?
The effectiveness of amyloidosis medications is typically measured by how well they control the disease and whether you achieve remission. For AL amyloidosis specifically, if treatments can effectively get the condition under control within the first six months after diagnosis, the outlook is usually good.
Your healthcare team will monitor your progress through several methods:
* Blood tests that look for biomarkers or molecules measuring how advanced your disease is
* Tests that check for amyloidosis-related organ damage, particularly heart damage
* Monitoring of symptoms and overall quality of life
Signs that medications may be working include:
* Reduction in amyloid protein levels
* Stabilization or improvement in organ function
* Decreased symptoms related to amyloidosis
* Achievement of partial or complete remission
Keep in mind that while medications can slow down the disease and help you live longer, most are not cures. Some people achieve long-term remission, with studies showing that certain drug combinations can lead to complete remission in about one out of three people.
Regular follow-up appointments with your healthcare team are essential to assess how well your treatment is working and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
