Is it part of the whole neuropathy thing? Any of the "team" experience involuntary trembling, twitching, shiver like sensations from the neck to the feet? AMY is the new junk mail that comes, and comes, and comes with more "offers" which just don't go away. Just curious to know if some of you are dealing with this new "actor" on our shared stage.

Richard started to squint and blink my eyes and find it hard to write without shaking. I also have this sensation that makes it feel like there is something crawling on my head under my hair periodically. I get the typical electric shock feeling in my hands fingers and big toes periodically.

Yes. Thank you Althena. This twitching was addressed by the AI bot in the answer it sent me two days ago, you may want to check that out as it explained pretty much what 1. Was happening to me and 2.Keeping the medical team aware of new symptoms. Truly there is something NEW it seems, every week or so and, like your friend, I get weary of the "doctoring' BUT IT DOESN'T STOP ME FROM DONOUGHTING.

I am new to this. My boyfriend of 10+ years has just been diagnosed this month. He is already in muti organ failure on dialysis and needing oxygen 24/7. Before all this transpired, he was healthy...working full time with no prior symptoms. So, as an observer... I can tell you I noticed his mouth (lips) twitching. Unless you were with him a lot..you wouldn't have noticed it. I also noticed his hands starting to shake from time to time. I just thought it was maybe sugar issues or something like that. It didnt seem like anything to worry about but it is a sign. Wish I would have had him go to the
Dr. immediately but he is not the type of man to go to the Dr. easily without it being an emergency.

That "AMY as junk mail" analogy is painfully accurate — and unfortunately, it does keep delivering unwanted surprises. What you're describing with the twitching and trembling can indeed be connected to amyloidosis neuropathy.

Amyloid deposits can damage motor nerve fibers, which are the nerves responsible for controlling movement. When these nerves are affected, it can cause symptoms like:

- Muscle twitching and cramps
- Involuntary trembling or shiver-like sensations
- Loss of coordination
- Overactive reflexes These motor symptoms can appear at different stages and may emerge as new developments even if other neuropathy symptoms have been present for a while.

That said, because this is a new symptom that started about a month ago, it's really important to bring this to your care team's attention soon. New or changing symptoms always deserve a proper evaluation to understand what's driving them and whether any adjustments to your treatment plan are needed.

Other MyAmyloidosisTeam members have shared experiences with muscle cramps, twitching, and uncontrollable sensations — so you're definitely not alone on this stage.
