So you too Judy!!! Mine commenced with incorrectly diagnosed "Geographic tongue" ( loss of taste into the bargain) .Two years I suffered with that when it was Amyloidosis all along. I still have this overproduction of saliva, nothing seems to shift it. Vyndaqel seems to have reduced it but not by much. Your dentist might be able to help.

This is the first I've heard about a potential link between Amyloidosis and mucus buildup. I have been plagued for some time with a condition called "LPR" "LaryngoPharyngeal Reflux" disease, which has driven me to distraction with mucus in my throat. In the last few months, it hads seemed to relent. Thinking back, I believe this lessening of symptoms might coincide with starting on my palette of Amyloidosis drugs - primarily Vyndamax.

Unfortunately, the available information doesn't include specific remedies for clearing mucus related to amyloidosis. The treatments discussed focus primarily on managing amyloid protein deposits and organ-related complications rather than respiratory symptoms.

If you're experiencing mucus buildup, it's important to discuss this with your healthcare team, especially a specialist familiar with amyloidosis. They can determine if this symptom is related to your condition or a separate issue requiring treatment.

In the meantime, general supportive measures like staying well-hydrated and using a humidifier may provide some comfort, though you should always check with your doctor before trying new remedies to ensure they're safe with your current treatment plan.
