I think so. I found a video on YouTube (I think - it's been awhile) about a researcher at Stanford who talked about what he called pseudo-occlusions, where the gut behaves as if it is blocked. I'll have to find it again.
In my thoughts, that makes perfect sense as amyloidosis also causes autonomic neuropothy, interfering with proper bowel function. Food ends up sitting in the gut too long, the body continues to pull moisture out so your food, what's left of it, gets hard. As it eventually pushes through by the food behind it, and because not all of the entire length of your gut is affected. The dam breaks and now you have a spell of diarreah. Until you clean out a bit then the process starts over. You can take OTC senna tablets to keep you moving and also creating loose stool all the time, but at least not blocked up. I found that drinking a senna based herb tea is enough but a little gentler.

I have amyloid in my GI tract so unfortunately I pretty much have diarrhea almost every day. I had a bad weekend but when Monday came along I started to feel better. Good days and bad days. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It is common and I have the same issue with Wild type.
