I combat fatigue with a positive attitude and maximum exercise.
Having amyloidosis is like putting your car in the ditch. Does putting your car in the ditch depress you? This is where you are, now figure out what you can do about it--ditch, amyloidosis..
The other strategy is 'adjust'. Prior to Amy I was a long distance cyclist, but no more. So I ride my e-trike whenever weather cooperates.
Something else to use to avoid depression is to take up hobbies. When building a children's refrigerator, I totally forgot about having Amy. Now I print/frame photos and am working on investment strategies. Getting totally engrossed in a hobby enables one to forget about Amy.
So those are my thoughts abut depression vs amyloidosis.
Wow, great attitude, advice and wisdom. We may be getting older but it comes with experience, life lessons and strength to push on! Thank you, Vern!
Always listen to Vern! ❤️
I found your post funny and I needed that. Thank you.
I found that extreme fatigue was getting me down. I have consulted with my doctor and decided I just want to be happy instead of worrying about it since there doesnt seem to be a solution. He prescribed effexor. It tastes terrible. Doesnt change my fatigue. But now I dont care.
