Members responded to a question about tissue paper skin that rips, bleeds, and itches, with many confirming this is a shared and frustrating experience tied to amyloidosis. Several members noted that thin, easily bruised, and itchy skin persists even during remission or after stopping medications like prednisone, suggesting it may be part of the condition itself. Practical remedies shared included Benadryl gel, a bite relief gadget from Amazon, and a prescription Mometasone cream that one member said worked like a charm to stop itching.

Although I am in remission now for more than a year, I still have thin skin on my arms. Easily bruised, easily cut. Once in a great while my skin gets itchy--I just tolerate these things. I may try Benedryl next time I get the itches.

Nancy, I have a product from my Dr., it is a 30 Gm tube of Taro-Mometasone Cream 0.1% . It works like a charm to stop the itch and make them go away. Jim7 πŸ˜ŽπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦
